ΕΙΣΟΔΟΣ ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΗ
Κάθε ανθρώπινη δράση έχει μια επίδραση στο φυσικό περιβάλλον. Οι ταινίες που παρουσιάζονται σε αυτή την ενότητα αναδεικνύουν ακριβώς αυτό, πως η ανθρώπινη δράση επηρεάζει την ευημερία της φύσης και ποιες είναι οι συνέπειες της αλόγιστης κατανάλωσης προϊόντων και πόρων.

Μια ομάδα κατοίκων στο δρομάκι Toay, στη γειτονιά Villa Santa Rita, στην πόλη του Μπουένος Άιρες, με αρχηγό την βιολόγο Romina Suárez, αποφάσισαν την περίοδο της πανδημίας να εποικίσουν πάλι την γειτονιά τους με πεταλούδες. Γέμισαν τα σπίτια τους και τα παρτέρια στους δρόμους με τοπικά φυτά και έγιναν μάρτυρες όχι μόνο της διαδικασίας μεταμόρφωσης των πεταλούδων αλλά επίσης και της γειτονιάς τους, της ομάδας τους και της ζωής τους .

Το “Trash Walk” είναι ένα μικρού μήκους ντοκιμαντέρ που ακολουθεί την Χριστίνα κατά τη διάρκεια των Χριστουγέννων. Είναι μια καλλιτέχνιδα και ακτιβίστρια που ζει στη Γλασκώβη και η οποία μέσα από τις περφομανς που κάνει στους δρόμους περνάει τη στάση της απέναντι στον καταναλωτισμό.

“Μπορεί να υπάρξει ειρήνη σε ένα χωριό χωρίς νερό;” ρωτάει η Bursa, ένα 12χρονο κορίτσι από ένα χωριό όπου οι υδάτινοι πόροι μειώνονται δραματικά. Η ταινία μας ταξιδεύει σε ένα όμορφο τοπίο το οποίο είναι καταδικασμένο να χάσει την βλάστηση του και το καθαρό νερό για να μετατραπεί σε άλλο ένα εγκαταλελειμμένο μέρος στο οποίο κάποτε υπήρχε αφθονία.
“A tribute to compost” | Uğur Cuya | Τουρκία | Ντοκιμαντερ | 2024 | 24’51’’
Το ντοκιμαντέρ εξερευνά τις πολυπλοκότητες της αστικής ζωής κάνοντας αναφορά στο δικαίωμα των πολιτών των άστεων να έχουν πρόσβαση σε καθαρό και υγιεινό φαγητό. Ταυτόχρονα εστιάζει στο ρόλο του κομπόστ στην βιωσιμότητα του περιβάλλοντος. Η παραγωγή κομπόστ και ο ακτιβισμός των Umut Bayhan, Cansu Dirim, και Özlem Tömekçe επισημαίνουν την σημασία της επαναξιολόγησης των σκουπιδιών στις πόλεις και την μεταμόρφωση τους σε χώμα.

Every human action has a reaction to the environment. The films presented in this section focus on how human actions influence nature’s existence and showcase the consequences of the imprudent consumption of products and resources.

A group of inhabitants of Toay Alley, located in the Villa Santa Rita neighborhood, in the City of Buenos Aires, who, led by the biologist Romina Suárez and during the pandemic, decided to repopulate the neighborhood with butterflies. They filled their houses and flower beds in the streets with native plants and witnessed not only the process of metamorphosis of the butterflies, but also their neighborhood, their group and their own lives.

Trash Walk is a short documentary that follows Christina during Christmas. She is an art activist based in Glasgow who through street performances conveys her stance against consumerism. By adopting a hybrid approach of documentary modes (observational, expository) this film tries to explore the concepts of art activism (artivism) and street performance.
“Peace Water” | Basak Callioglu Pinto | Turkey | Documentary | 2024 | 19’55’
“Would there be peace in a village without water?” asks Busra, a 12 years old girl from a village where the water sources have dramatically decreased. The film takes us to a journey through a beautiful landscape that is doomed to lose its greenery and clean water to become another once abundant now deserted area.
“A tribute to compost” | Uğur Cuya | Turkey | Documentary | 2024 | 24’51’’
The documentary delves into the intricacies of urban life, addressing the right of urban individuals to access clean and healthy food. Simultaneously, it focuses on the role of compost in environmental sustainability. The compost production and activism of Umut Bayhan, Cansu Dirim, and Özlem Tömekçe underscore the importance of reevaluating waste in cities and transforming it into soil.
